During our visit to Lisbon, Portugal's capital city, we were amazed by the various hilly districts with its colourful buildings either painted or covered in colourful tiles, all preserved and not damaged by any World Wars. The City is so historical and was built from the Tagus River all the way up the various hills. No wonder the most famous navigators and explorers like Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan and Vasco Di Gama were Portugese. Going froward many Centuries, travelling around Lisbon involves riding in their Metro, the historic trams, buses and for the more adventurous, there is the Tuk Tuk, made famous from Thailand and these yellow mobiles (photo above). It also helped that the weather in Portugal was sunny and warm even during this Fall season. Portugal is full of beautiful wonders with so many to see and learn about their history, culture, their joys, struggles, music, the Fado, their wines and most of all their fresh and delicious seafood. Visiting Lisbon far exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed every moment of it.
